Scripture

I believe that the Word of God is the basis of the Christian faith. The Bible testifies to its own truthfulness and importance in 2 Timothy 3:16, it is the word of God and it is to be used to edify the believer, and in Titus 1:2, which says that God cannot lie. I believe that the original writings of the Bible were without error in all that it says, and that the Bible of today is a trustworthy transmission of those writings. The Bible is the final authority in the life of the Christian and contains the a complete revelation of the way to salvation. Revelation 22:18-19 affirms the completeness of the word of God.
As a minister of the Gospel, I see my task to be the teaching of the word of God above all else. Because I believe that the Bible is inerrant and the actual word of God, I believe it is important to understand and teach the original meaning of the text. The Bible is not merely a work of literature which can be used as one sees fit, it is living and active (Heb 4:12), and must be allowed to speak for itself.
