10 in '10 - Church Trends: Community

2010 will be the year when community goes mainstream.  Now, you may be thinking that already happened with sites like Facebook and LinkedIn but it didn't.  What we have seen the last couple years is social networking taking the place of community.  This year more and more people are going to be saying that they don't want updates from Facebook "friends," they want face time with real friends.

10 in '10 - Church Trends

With the new year upon us, this is a good time to look at where the momentum is in churches across the country.  This series shows my guesses for the top ten 2010 church trends.

Christmas Traditions

This is the week of Christmas.  This is the first year that I will be running the Christmas eve service (tonight at a certain Grand Junction Church) and I am looking forward to it.  We do a traditional candlelight service each year and there is usually a pretty good turnout.

Independence Day

Independence Day is this weekend.  I am preaching about freedom from sin and becoming slaves to righteousness out of Romans 6.  As Christians, it is our great privilege to be free to live rightly, something we couldn't do when we were still slaves to sin.

If you are traveling through Colorado this weekend, why not attend one of the Grand Junction churches this Sunday?
